Eleven engraved cards for attendance at lectures at the University of Pennsylvania, printed with lecture title, lecturer (some added in manuscript), dated and with attendee’s name (James Hunter Ewing) in manuscript, comprising two for Surgery, two for Anatomy, two for the Principles and Practice of Midwifery and the diseases of women and children, two on Materia Medica and Pharmacy, two on Chemistry and one on the Institutes & Practice of Medicine & Clinical Practice [WITH] two further engraved matriculation cards for 1818-1819 and 1819-1820  

James Hunter Ewing was a physician. He received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1821.  The American Philosophical Society holds a manuscript volume of notes taken by Ewing at these lectures [Mss.610.7.L49]
