Thomas died the following year. Sullivan fought for several more years in the UK, Australia and the USA.

Sullivan (1886-1949) British Middleweight champion between 1910 and 1912. He went on to challenge for the European title.

Thomas was the first British Middleweight champion, spanning an active career from 1880-1911
