Corbett was an American boxer (1866-1933). and World Heavyweight Champion. He is known as the only man who ever defeated J.L.Sullivan. Corbett later lost his Heavyweight title to Fitzsimmons.
In 1894 Corbett’s fight with Peter Courtney was only the second boxing match ever to be filmed. Following his retirement from boxing, Corbett became an actor and gave talks about pugilism.
