Famin, Constant Alexandre. Paris 1827 - Paris 1888
Mare aux Fees
albumen print from collodion on glass negative , on original card mount
120 x 170mm
This scene is a 'print' by Famin of the central portion of a larger negative. A print of the same cropped image was deposited in the Bibliotheque Nationale in 1863. The Grande Mare (so called until 1809) was a favourite haunt of writers, painters and photographers.
